Sky Release UK Trailer For Sam Levinson’s The Idol
After HBO teased the upcoming release of The Idol, SKY join the tease with the UK Trailer. The series directed by Sam Levinson (Assassination Nation and Malcolm & Marie) and The Weeknd who also stars alongside Lily-Rose Depp.
The series has been a long time coming with Amy Seimetz and Suzanna Son. They exited to be replaced by the Euphoria director and The Weeknd better known as Abel Tesfaye. Reasons for the change is unknown, Seimetz and Son left the series in April.
The seven episode is being described as ‘the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood’. Set in the backdrop of the music industry when a self help guru enters the life of a rising pop idol. The relationship becomes complicated, he also happens to be a leader of a cult.
You hear people talk about certain industries, they’ll do anything to get in. The music industry is one allegedly been considered debaucherous . If we go by this short trailer it looks to live up to the rumours. Scandalous, as the characters take drugs, and getting lustful in the bedroom. This looks like a series you may not want to watch with your granny. Unless she’s a fun loving granny!
From the sick and twisted minds of Sam Levinson and The Weeknd, starring Lily-Rose Depp; the series is set against the backdrop of the music industry and will focus on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult who enters into a complicated relationship with a rising pop idol.
The series also stars Troye Sivan, Debby Ryan, Rachel Sennott, Steve Zissis, Hari Nef, and Juliebeth Gonzalez.
The Idol doesn’t have an exact launch date on SKY and NOW apart from ‘coming soon‘. If you live in USA you can watch it on HBO MAX, date also to be announced.
