Seth MacFarlane Confirmed As Host Of 85th Oscars!

Giggity Giggity Giggity Giggity Goo! Alright! Now this unexpected news Family Guy creator and Ted director Seth MacFarlane has been officially announced as the host of the 85th Oscar Academy Awards!

This news will ruffle a few feathers as it’ll be seen as a risqué move but a sign a sign that  Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is once again attempting to be different from the safe hands of the likes of Billy Crystal. This announcement will certainly puzzle some quarters as as the Academy has been moving away from hosts that poked fun at the ceremony,the stars in attendance and if MacFarlane gets his way in his brand of humour which can be very crude.

This news will certainly be more popular with the home viewers as the previous hosts have been too boring, too safe or simply big failures so entertainment guaranteed even if its uncomfortable for those in attendance. If you think Macfarlane is only a director, creator, he is also a singer who was recently in London playing a gig promoting his latest CD so do expect big musical number as he is a fan of old blues eyes Frank Sinatra.

Here’s what Seth had to say about the announcement:

It’s truly an overwhelming privilege to be asked to host the Oscars. My thoughts upon hearing the news were, one, I will do my utmost to live up to the high standards set forth by my predecessors; and two, I hope they don’t find out I hosted the Charlie Sheen Roast.

The 85th Annual Academy Awards will be held February 24, 2013.
