Studiocanal UK have released the official UK Trailer for Ali Abassi‘s The Apprentice starring Sebastian Stan as Donald J.Trump. We also now have an official release date with the film coming to UK next month.
The Apprentice stars Sebastian Stan (Pam & Tommy) as Donald Trump, Jeremy Strong (Succession) as the firebrand Roy Cohn, Martin Donovan (Tenet) as Fred Trump Sr, and Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) as Ivana Trump.
The film dives into the underbelly of the American empire. Charting a young Donald Trump’s ascent to power through a Faustian deal with the influential right-wing lawyer and political fixer Roy Cohn.
You don’t have to generally like Donald Trump to appreciate Stan’s version. This trailer showcases the ruthless nature of Trump, how far he would go to seal the deal. Was it a deal with the devil? This looks a fascinating film to see the first steps in business who politically in his early days was completely different from the man who became president.
The origins of Donald Trump are brought to life in a provocative, electrifying portrait of the man and his mentor, Roy Cohn – a notorious lawyer who will never let the truth get in the way of winning a fight. Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong star as Trump and Cohn respectively, with Maria Bakalova starring as Ivana Trump and acclaimed director Ali Abbasi (Border, Holy Spider) bringing a unique perspective to this gripping, darkly funny tale of greed, power and the dark art of the deal.
Studiocanal UK now have now announced that The Apprentice will be released in the UK and Ireland next month on 18th October. The film will make it’s UK Premiere a few days earlier at BFI London Film Festival on 15th October [more info/buy tickets].
