Scary Truths Unveiled In The Mauritanian UK Trailer

What if you were arrested and jailed without charge, there would be an outcry. In the UK Trailer for The Mauritanian Tahir Rahim finds himself languishing in prison with charge or trial. As Jodie Foster fights for justice and his freedom some scary truths are unveiled.
This true story legal drama centres around Rahim’s character Mohamedou Ould Slahi. The man considered by the U.S government as the recruiter of the terrorists who flew the planes that caused the 9/11 attacks on New York. Imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay for many years with no charges or trial, no chance of a fair trial.
Held for 10 years, the trial unearthed evidence that a dark terrifying conspiracy was aiming to put in place to stop any defence put in place. It’s a rare film to see Foster in the lead role as Slahi’s defence attorney. This film you could say is Rahim’s big Hollywood introduction despite playing secondary roles in many films since A Prophet his breakout role.
This film will spark a lot of emotion and tension due to the subject matter. Could Kevin McDonald‘s (Last King Of Scotland) film earn awards recognition for it’s lead actors?
Captured by the U.S. Government, Mohamedou Ould Slahi (Tahar Rahim) languishes in prison for years without charge or trial. Losing all hope, Slahi finds allies in defense attorney Nancy Hollander (Jodie Foster) and her associate Teri Duncan (Shailene Woodley). Together they face countless obstacles in a desperate pursuit for justice. Their controversial advocacy, along with evidence uncovered by formidable military prosecutor, Lt. Colonel Stuart Couch (Benedict Cumberbatch), eventually reveals a shocking and far reaching conspiracy. Based on the New York Times best-selling memoir, this is the explosive true story of a fight for survival against all odds.
The film also stars Zachary Levi, Saamer Usmani, Shailene Woodley, along with Benedict Cumberbatch.
The Mauritanian will be released in UK and Irish Cinemas from 26th February 2021 (19th February in the USA).
