Rivals Season 2 Returns With More Scandals Than Ever Before

The trailer for the second part of Rivals Season 2 has dropped and it looks more scandalous than ever. Earlier in the year the first six episodes dropped on Disney+. With six episodes remaining, the new trailer promises everything: grief, revenge, love, scandal, yearning, all, of course, accompanied by an exceptional ’80s score.

Picking up after the heartbreaking mid-series finale, Tony Baddingham and Declan O’Hara’s battle for the Cotswolds crown reaches fever pitch, while Rupert Campbell-Black is battling his own personal demons. There’s hedonistic parties, Bonfire Night chaos, the Hampshire Hunt Ball and a turbulent Christmas; with affairs unraveling, alliances fracturing and rivalries intensifying. Caught in the middle of the franchise war, Taggie O’Hara must decide whether to follow her heart, as those around her face the consequences of ambition, power and secrets exposed.

David Tennant reprises his role as Baddingham, Alex Hassell as Rupert Campbell-Black, and Aidan Turner as Declan O’Hara. Also returning are Nafessa Williams as Cameron Cook, Bella Maclean as Taggie O’Hara, Katherine Parkinson as Lizzie Vereker, and Danny Dyer as Freddie Jones.

Joining the cast are Rachael Stirling as Lady Monica Baddingham’s younger sister Araminta Pemberton, Rupert Evans as headmaster David Hawkley, and Santiago Cabrera as polo player Alejandro Mendoza.

Rivals is based on Dame Jilly Cooper’s best-selling novels ‘Rutshire Chronicles‘, first published in 1985. Season 1 of Rivals premiered in October 2024 to critical acclaim, with a 95% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. A third season has already been confirmed for 12 episodes.

The final three episodes of Season 2 will premiere on Wednesday, 11th November on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US.
