Since it’ arrival late onto this years festival circuit Derek Cianfrance‘s The Place Beyond The Pines has been building a fantastic buzz along with some great reviews and now we have the film’s first official trailer.

The film reunites director with his last film’s star(Blue Valentine) Ryan Gosling a crime drama about two men one a pro-motorcycleย rider (Gosling) who learns he’s a father and wants to connect with his former lover and mother of his son (Eva Mendes). He quits his old life to support his family, life hard he’s forced to become a criminal rob banks a life leads him on a collision course with upcoming cop (Bradley Cooper) whom himself is plagued by sins of the past.

The Place Beyond The Pines looks an epic film and right away there will be comparisons to Gosling’s previous flick Drive though the classic Deer Hunter does also have a comparable inspiration too. It looks a very compelling film with 2 great performances from the lead ย which will please Cooper especially in his road to star in more serious film roles. With a ย good strong support and a ย solid reliable director The Place Beyond The Pines looks like one of more intelligent films to check in 2013.

The film also starsย Dane DeHaan, Rose Byrne, Ray Liotta, Ben Mendleshonย andย Bruce Greenwood.The Place Beyond The Pines will be released in UK&Ireland 12th April 2013 (USA 29th March 2013).

Synopsis :Luke (Ryan Gosling) is a professional motorcycle rider who turns to bank robberies to support his newborn son. But when he crosses paths with a rookie police officer (Bradley Cooper), their violent confrontation spirals into a tense generational feud. The Place Beyond the Pines is a rich dramatic thriller, tracing the intersecting lives of fathers and sons, cops and robbers, heroes and villains.
