One day we will have to face it and in Paolo Sorrentino‘s Youth Michael Caine, Harvy Keitel face that prospect, Tonight we have a look at the film’s U.S trailer ahead of it’s North American premiere at Toronto.

Youth explores the lifelong bond between two friends vacationing in a luxury Swiss Alps lodge as they ponder retirement. While Fred (Michael Caine) has no plans to resume his musical career despite the urging of his daughter Lena (Rachel Weisz), Mick (Harvey Keitel) is intent on finishing the screenplay for what may be his last film for his muse Brenda (Jane Fonda). And where will inspiration lead their younger friend Jimmy (Paul Dano), an actor grasping to make sense of his next performance? From Italy’s Oscar-winning foreign language film writer and director Paolo Sorrentino, Youth asks if our most important and life-changing experiences can come at any time even late in life.

The film made it’s world premiere earlier in the year at Cannes leaving with a mixed reactions. However The Great Beauty his 2014 film did win Best Foreign feature at The Oscars so it’s worthy of a look if not for its iconic leading gents. This is a journey of emotions, a reality of growing old facing it like we did when we became adults. Moving but very poetic in tone, a film that see Caine deliver a potential award winning performance.

Youth is been released in USA by Fox Searchlight with a 4th December release, here in UK&Ireland we have to wait a little longer with 16th January 2016 release from Studiocanal. Youth also stars Paul Dano.
