We all love animals and A Street Cat Called Bob was an unexpected minor hit when it was released in 2016. Today we’ve learned Bob is returning in A Gift From Bob which is now officially started principal photography.
The film will be a festive theme sequel continuing that story which was based on the international best-selling books.
Luke Treadaway (Attack The Block, Brothers of the Head) returns as James Bowen, and Bob the Cat (A Street Cat Named Bob) is returning as himself.
From the day James Bowen rescued a street cat abandoned in the hallway of his sheltered accommodation, they began a friendship which has transformed both their lives and touched millions around the world.

In A Gift From Bob, James looks back at the last Christmas he and Bob spent scraping a living on the streets and how Bob helped him through one of his toughest times – providing strength, friendship and inspiration. Ultimately teaching each other about the true meaning of Christmas spirit along the way.
The film will be directed by Charles Martin Smith (A Dog’s Way Home, Dolphin Tale, Dolphin Tale 2, Stone of Destiny), written and executive produced by Garry Jenkins (A Street Cat Named Bob) and produced by Adam Rolston (A Street Cat Named Bob), Tracy and Steve Jarvis of Parkhouse Pictures (Anna and the Apocalypse) and Andrew Boswell and Sunny Vohra of Twickenham Studios.
We don’t have an exact release date just yet. But going with the Christmas theme, we wouldn’t be surprised A Gift From Bob will be ready for Christmas 2020. The first was given a Royal world premiere in London with the Duchess of Cambridge in attendance. Same again?
Stay tuned…
