The Prodigium Revealed In A New The Mummy Featurette

The Mummy - Russell Crowe

Next month ‘The Awakening‘ will happen when The Mummy arrives in cinemas around the UK and Ireland. Until now the focus of the promotion has been on Sofia Boutella and Tom Cruise‘s characters until know. As we know this movie is the first of several reboots of the classic Universal Monsters Universe and this movie does have one other classic monster Dr Jekyll.

Russell Crowe is Dr Jekyll and of course Mr Hyde and in a new behind the scenes Featurette called ‘Welcome To Prodigium‘, but what is the  ‘Prodigium’? As we’ve learned from the progress of The Mummy this rebooted universe will be connected, so what will connect the movies…The Prodigium. It appears this is a secret organisation like S.H.I.E.L.D which is ran by Dr.Henry Jekyll, so could you say he will be the Nick Fury of this Universe? The group is set up to researching and fighting these monsters and this new video does give us some insight into the group and Jekyll along with sneak peek of Mr Hyde!

Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilisation: The Mummy.
Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaging.

The Mummy will ‘awake’ in the UK, Irish and American cinemas from 9th June. Tom Cruise is joined by a cast including Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance.
