Prime Video’s Spider-Noir gets first trailer and release date

The first teaser trailer for the upcoming, highly anticipated Spider-Noir series has dropped online.

,This is a spin-off from Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman’s Into the Spider-Verse universe. Steve Lightfoot and Oren Uziel serve as showrunners for the series, which will be released to MGM+ and Prime Video. Directors of episodes are listed as Harry Bradbeer (also an executive producer), Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal, Aditya Sood, Dan Shear, Nicholas Cage, and Pavlina Hatoupis.

Featuring the voice work of Cage as Ben Reilly, aka ‘The Spider’ in an alternative universe, “Spider-Noir is a live-action series based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. Spider-Noir tells the story of Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), a seasoned, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.”

Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson are also set to provide voice acting.

The trailer, released both in black-and-white and colour, provides a taste of Reilly, who has taken a step back “from his heroic alter ego”, be pulled back into the crime-fighting scene following “an extraordinary case”. 

Spider-Noir will oversee an MGM+ premiere on 25th May,  followed by a global release on Prime Video on 27th May.
