Pennyworth Season 2 UK Trailer Alfred Is A Superspy!
This February Starzplay will ‘bring the house down’ when they release Season 2 of Pennyworth. Today we get a glimpse of the upcoming season’s official UK Trailer that teases our titular character is or should I say was a ‘superspy’!
The DC origin series Pennyworth follows Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon – The Imitation Game), a former British SAS soldier in his 20s, who forms a security company in 1960s London and goes to work with young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge – “Our Girl,” “Reign,” “Fleabag”), before he becomes Bruce Wayne’s father.
If you know you Batman history and the Wayne family history, who they invite into their trust circle they are no ordinary people. Whilst the films teased Alfred was more traditional butler who could handle himself, in Gotham series (played by Sean Pertwee) he was a man from a military background. Hence why the Waynes made Alfred young Master Wayne’s guardian and you can see Alfred show off those skills…
In Pennyworth Season 2, civil war has erupted in London, leaving Alfred in the middle and looking for an escape route. Pennyworth Season 2 will feature the introduction of iconic DC Comics character Lucius Fox (Simon Manyonda), along with new series regular cast members James Purefoy, Jessica de Gouw, Edward Hogg, Jessye Romeo, Ramon Tikaram and Harriet Slater.
Season 2 will features the return of stars Emma Paetz, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett, Ryan Fletcher, Dorothy Atkinson and Ian Puleston-Davies, with Paloma Faith and Jason Flemyng. Earlier this year, it was announced that James Purefoy, Edward Hogg, Jessye Romeo, Ramon Tikaram and Harriet Slater would be joining the cast as series regulars.
Season Two of the Hit DC Series Pennyworth will Premiere in Several European Territories (including the UK & Ireland) and Latin America on Starzplay 28th February, 2021.
