Paranormal Activity 4 Officially Announced To Be Released This Year

This news comes with no surprise that Paramount Pictures have announced that Paranormal Activity 4 will released this year, giving the green light for more ghosts, ghouls and possessed Katie’s of the night!

After  the success of film three with the Cathfish team of Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman behind it, it was only the matter of time before the news would be broke after the recent film earning $202 million worldwide in box office sales. In terms of the big blockbusters that may not sound a great return however PA3 only had a budget of $5 million making more than the first two films combined. The studio also announced they made $5.17 billion at the box office in 2011 making them the most successful of all the studio’s last year hence the announcement of film 4 in the low budget horror found footage series.

There is no word on what the storyline will contain and if sisters Katie and Katie will be involved either especially as  first 2 films were on the sisters and 3 been the prequel. However though it was was refreshing to see Paranormal Activity 3 trying to scare us in different ways the ending left the film on a anti climax, crying out for another follow up film! No official date has been announced  yet but do expect this one to find its way into cinema’s around Halloween time unchallenged from any rivals even the already announced Dimension Films Halloween 3D .

Paramount Pictures announced today it ended 2011 in the No. 1 position among all studios, having achieved the highest total combined gross of any studio for the year, earning a record $5.17 billion worldwide. In 2012, Paramount’s release slate highlights include “World War Z,” a zombie thriller starring Brad Pitt and directed by Marc Forster, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” the next installment in the global franchise starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Channing Tatum, a new chapter in the “Paranormal Activity” franchise, and “The Dictator,” starring Sacha Baron Cohen and directed by Larry Charles, the team behind “Borat.”
