Original Cast To Return for Saturday Night Live UK S2

All 11 members of Saturday Night Live UK‘s fantastic original cast are returning for season two, which has just been confirmed to return on the 12th September.

It isn’t a given that every cast member from Saturday Night Live stays around for a second season so having the full original lineup back is a really positive sign of support for the show. Those returning are Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi and Paddy Young. With a season under their belts, it will be genuinely exciting to watch their confidence grow now they’re not finding their feet anymore.

The format itself isn’t changing: it will still broadcast live each week and built around a rotating celebrity host and musical guest. It will also still be full of topical sketches and live music performances. Excitingly, Weekend Update segment will return too, which provided the standout viral clips for season one. Six new episodes are confirmed for the back end of 2026, with more to follow in early 2027. For those interested, there have been a few changes behind the scenes. Laura Claxton has been promoted to Co-Head Writer, working alongside existing Head Writer Jonno Johnson. Liz Clare returns as Director, Heather MacVean joins as Costume Designer, and Sinead Oldnall takes charge of the talent team as Director of Onscreen Talent. Lorne Michaels is Executive Producer, with James Longman continuing as Lead Producer. The show was commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones, Executive Director of Unscripted Originals at Sky, and for SNL UK S2, Alex Moody, Head of Comedy Commissioning at Sky, for Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Sky Studios and Chief Content Officer for Sky.

SNL UK returns to Sky and NOW on 12th September with its first six episodes, ahead of further episodes in early 2027.
