Oppenheimer Makes It Two In A Row At The Official Film Chart

It’s been a ‘bombastic’ few weeks for Christopher Nolan‘s Oppenheimer. It’s earns a second week at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart, denying Five Nights at Freddy’s the top spot.
Outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined, Oppenheimer is the biggest film of the week across both disc and digital downloads.
Our highest new entry of the week is frightening video game adaptation Five Nights at Freddy’s, which debuts at Number 2. Josh Hutcherson stars as Mike, a troubled young person who takes a job as a security guard at a long-abandoned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza which holds a dark past, battling vengeful animatronics and unravelling the sinister secrets lurking at the pizzeria.
Our next big new entry comes from action thriller The Equaliser 3, starring Denzel Washington, which opens at Number 3. Dropping two places to Number 4 is The Creator.
Dancing up eight places is festive favourite Love Actually (5). Having previously peaked at Number 4 in 2020, can the British rom-com climb any further this year?
Action-adventure film Prey is up next (6), thanks to its release across disc having previously been a Disney+ exclusive. Amber Midthunder stars as Naru, a highly-skilled warrior in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago. When her camp is threatened, she sets out to protect her people from a highly-evolved alien predator.
Closing out the Top 10 this week is Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, down three (7), Violent Night, which lifts two (8), Barbie (9) and a brand new peak for British family favourite, Nativity!, which rises five to Number 10.
