This March Hugh Jackman will embark on one last venture as our adamantium superhero Wolverine when Logan arrives in UK & Ireland. Before he takes his bow on the big screen in the third (and final) standalone movie, Logan will make it’s world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.
After X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), The Wolverine (2013), Logan is looking like it may be truly something special. After been a staple part of the X-Men movies, hardcore fans look like they’ll finally get their R-Rated movie. A rating of movie many believe the character deserves and the last trailer proved it will be a gritty affair.
Whilst many of Marvel movies are getting a little formulaic, this one been from Marvel’s Fox movies it does feel like it has the power to break from those tropes. Over in The U.S.A, some press were treated to a 40-minute preview of the movie with a unanimously positive response.
The Berlin Film Festival is one of the prestigious film festivals and to be chosen to be screened at the festival, be it Out Of Competition you must have something special. 20th Century Fox Pictures have big confidence in Logan, it seems there not alone now it’s been screened at a festival known more for auteur movies.Even Ryan Reynolds thinks the movie should be in line for an Oscar nomination.
Other movies getting their premieres at Berlin will be Gurinda Chada‘s Viceroy’s House historical drama starring Hugh Bonneville and Gillan Anderson. Danny Boyle‘s T2: Trainspotting will make it’s international premiere (World Premiere is 22nd January in Edinburgh before it’s 27th January UK release date).
Logan is set for a 2nd March UK & Irish release date, starring alongside Jackman will be Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Dafne Keen, Richard E.Grant and Stephen Merchant.
