Ian wright stars in The Kitchen...
This week Daniel Kaluuya and Kibwe Tavares The Kitchen will arrive on Netflix. Ahead of that release, the streaming giants release one final trailer that introduces Ian Wright, Wright, Wright!

The new trailer for the film, we are introduced to Arsenal FC legend and former England striker Ian Wright’s Lord Kitchener. He is a DJ, more importantly the de facto ‘leader’ and father figure to the community of The Kitchen. As they make their last stand, guiding and inspiring them to resist and never forget they stand stronger together.

We posted our review of the film earlier today. Reviewed by Freda Cooper who describes the film as “an strong idea, one that makes you wonder how much the film is already mirroring reality, but it’s sadly let down in the final third when the story runs out of steam“.

In a dystopian London, the gap between rich and poor has been stretched to its limits. All forms of social housing have been eradicated and only The Kitchen remains. A community that refuses to move out of the place they call home. This is where we meet a solitary Izi, living here by necessity and desperately trying to find a way out, and a 12-year-old Benji, who has lost his mother and is searching for a family. We follow our unlikely pair as they struggle to forge a relationship in a system that is stacked against them.

The film also stars Kane Robinson, Jedaiah Bannermann, Hope Ikpoku Jr, BackRoad Gee, Cristale, Teija Kabs, and Demmy Ladipo.

The Kitchen releases on Netflix from Friday 19th January. If lucky you can watch the film in select UK Cinemas now.
