One Battle After Another 4K Steelbook Announced After Oscar Win

The One Battle After Another 4K Steelbook is officially on the way. Warner Bros. has confirmed the Best Picture winner at this year’s Academy Awards will arrive this summer as a collectable 4K UHD release. 

The announcement has been long anticipated since the film’s theatrical release last September. While One Battle After Another already received a standard Blu-ray and 4K release in January, this new Steelbook edition offers a far more substantial package.  According to Variety, the release will include both 4K UHD and Blu-ray formats, alongside a dedicated bonus disc featuring new material curated by Paul Thomas Anderson. 

The extras are a major part of the appeal for this special edition steelbook. A feature-length making-of documentary leads the package, supported by camera, lighting and costume tests, as well as a screen test with Chase Infiniti. There’s also a closer look at the film’s editing process, plus footage from its opening night at the Vista Theatre. 

The release is rounded off with a 24-page booklet of behind-the-scenes photography, reinforcing Anderson’s focus on physical media and offering a deeper look into the film’s production. 

The One Battle After Another 4K Steelbook will be available through major retailers on release. Following its Oscar success – where it won six Academy Awards – including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor – it’s shaping up to be one of the standout 4K physical media releases of the year, especially for collectors and fans of Anderson’s work. 

Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Infiniti lead the cast. The film grossed over $211million at the worldwide box office last year.
