Official UK DJANGO UNCHAINED Poster & Synopsis Arrives!
When I finally decided to call it a day yesterday on the posts, I turned the laptop off, lights out and the last thing I said to myself “I forgot to post the Django Unchained poster!!!”. Fear not destiny was telling me to rest as in the past hour Sony International have sent us over the official UK version of the poster along with the film’s synopsis!
Quentin Tarantino‘s dream of creating a spaghetti western is finally coming reality with Jamie Foxx leading the cast as Django, a slave who is liberated by a German bounty hunter played by Christoph Waltz. Django wants to re-unite with his (Kerry Washington) wife and is promised if he helps the bounty hunter track down a family of outlaws he will be free dead or alive. Expect every thing that has ever inspired Tarantino in film to be in Django especially Sergio Leone, with homage going out to the original Django by Sergio Corbucci, even Takashi Miike’s Sukiyaki Western Django,which had Tarantino in it! I have to admit Westerns and me don’t usually get on well, Ive never been a fan I don’t know why I don’t like them however when you through Quentin Tarantino into the equation he knows how make something that may look generic on paper look rather intriguing!
With the poster and synopsis arrived we know a teaser trailer will be close by, please Sony don’t ruin the anticipation with these obnoxious teaser of a teaser trailer and just let us know when the trailer will be here! DJANGO UNCHAINED will be released in UK&Ireland 18th January 2013 or December 25th if you live in USA. Great cast: Leonardo Di Caprio, Samuel L Jackson, Gerald McRaney, RZA, Dennis Christopher, Kurt Russell, Sacha Baron Cohen, Laura Cayouette, Laura Cayouette, Tom Savini, M.C. Gainey, Misty Upham, and Don Johnson!
Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award®-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.
Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.
Django and Schultz’s search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (Academy Award®-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio), the proprietor of “Candyland,” an infamous plantation where slaves are groomed by trainer Ace Woody (Kurt Russell) to battle each other for sport. Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Academy Award®-nominee Samuel L. Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave. Their moves are marked, and a treacherous organization closes in on them. If Django and Schultz are to escape with Broomhilda, they must choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival…
