Official Trailer For Gritty Drama Series A Thousand Blows

As Peaky Blinders fans await the upcoming Netflix film, Steven Knight’s A Thousand Blows looks like will fill that void. Disney+ have dropped the full Trailer for the gritty drama and an all new crime syndicate.

For months we’ve been teased for this Victorian era series, finally we get the full trailer. Highlighting London’s dark side in the 1800’s and it was brutal! A Thousand Blows  is a  six-part series is set in the perilous world of illegal boxing in 1880s.

The series stars Malachi Kirby, Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty. Inspired by the true life gangs that ruled the streets in The Big Smoke and one gang especially, 40 Elephants.

Inspired by the true life stories of a group of characters battling for survival in the brutal East End of London in the 1880s. Hezekiah Moscow and Alec Munroe, best friends from Jamaica, find themselves thrust into the criminal underbelly of London’s thriving bare-knuckle boxing scene. As Hezekiah finds fortune and fame through the art of pugilism, he attracts the attention of the infamous Queen of the Forty Elephants, Mary Carr, who sets about exploiting his talents to further her criminal enterprise. Meanwhile the menacing and self-declared emperor of the East End boxing world, Sugar Goodson, determines to destroy Hezekiah whose ambitions to fight in the West End threaten everything he has built. What ensues is a battle of the old world against the new.

A Thousand Blows also stars  Francis Lovehall , Jason Tobin, James Nelson-Joyce , Hannah Walters, Darci Shaw. Along with Nadia Albina, Morgan Hilaire, Jemma Carlton, Caoilfhionn Dunne,  Susan Lynch,  and Daniel Mays. Adam Nagaitis, Gary Lewis, Tom Davis and Robert Glenister. You can watch Season 1 on Disney+ (Hulu in the U.S) from 21st February.
