I can even remember back in the 1980’s even into the early 1990’s nearly every sunday afternoon we’d get some video’s rented out to watch that night and I always remember the blacklist of horror’s which got banned by the censors for various and now really ridiculous reasons, some deserved it others not. Alot of these movies got released years later and some have even been remade since and we now have another one to add to the remade list, I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE.

The movie is been released by Anchor Bay and today Yahoo have released the theatrical trailer for the new version which will be getting a limited release in USA on October 8th. As for a British or Irish release no information has been released however the movie will have its European premiere at the end of the month at this year’s London Film4 Frightfest.

I haven’t personally seen this movie or the original but I do know the movie caused alot of contraversy when it came out due to the movie’s plot. The movie’s story follows a woman who is a writer and she goes into the wilderness to a little cabin to finish of her novel but 3 local redneck’s subject her to a degrading, sexual assault, voilence left for dead. She does return for vengance trapping each of her tormentors one by one inflicting some of the torment she received from them.

The original movie came out in 1978 and even 32 years on it still causes trouble and even this version of the movie is doing its own bit when a recent screening of the movie at the Fantasia festival saw a woman faint and the director subjected to some verbal attacks.As I like to say everyone is entitled to their own opinions and you should never judge anthing until you have seen evidence to say the criticism is justified or not justified, here’s the new trailer:
