On first impressions of this trailer it feels like it’s trying to capture ‘Ice-Age’ with a story of a warning, the tourists are coming to Antartic. So who do you send to stop them? A polar bear called Norm!
Norm Of The North ,A polar bear of many words, Norm’s greatest gripe is simple: there is no room for tourists in the Arctic. But when a maniacal developer threatens to build luxury condos in his own backyard, Norm does what all normal polar bears would do…he heads to New York City to stop it. With a cast of ragtag lemmings at his side, Norm takes on the big apple, big business and a big identity crisis to save the day.
This was released in USA by Lionsgate Film but here it’s Signature Entertainment. So when animated films are released outside the big players such as Disney, Pixar, Laika, Dreamworks even Blue Sky it’s sometimes hard to get excited about a film. As we know sometimes been released by one of those big studios doesn’t guarantee success, sometimes the unexpected film does the trick. Like any kids movie, if they laugh, smile and give the parents 90 minutes of peace the film has been a success even if it’s a flop critically. When you have Polar Bears talking to humans, Lemmings farting trying to imitate Minions this might do the trick.
Norm The North is set for a UK release of 18th March starring the voice talents of Rob Schneider as Norm; Heather Graham as high-flying marketing exec with a conscience, Vera; Bill Nighy as wise bird, Socrates,Colm Meaney as ‘King of the Arctic’, Grandfather.James Corden, whips up a (snow) storm as the voice of thespian ‘polar bear impersonator’, Laurence.
