It has been a little while since we heard anything about X-Men:First Class; recently we heard mostly about the superheros, as well as Kevin Bacon being one of the villians, but we’ve not heard much else on the bad guys.. until today.

This is the weekend Empire’s Movie-Con is taking place and today at the conย  Jason Flemyng told the world that he’s onboard X-Men First Class to be Azazel , this is what heย  told Empire (during the Ironclad panel):

“Matthew showed me my costume just the other day. Now I swore Iโ€™d never be in heavy make-up again, but this role is going to involve it. But at least they said, โ€œDonโ€™t worry, weโ€™ll add the tail in postโ€.

For the hardcore X-Men fans outthere Azazel is an teleporting creature from another dimension and to keep his link to the human world he tried to impregnate some human women with one noteable lady been a certain blueskinned shapeshifter called Mystique and the kid was called Kurt Wagner better known as Knightcrawler. As in what Nightcrawler old man looks like well his aliases will give you a clue, Stan, bezelbub, The Devil?ย  so think Red not nightcrawlers blue pointy ears (not of spock variety), goatee, horns and a pointy tale.

We don’t know at this stage how big a role Azazel will have in the movie and it’s looking likely, even with the heavy make-up, that Flemyng’s character will be created in CGI for those more ‘non-human’ parts. All film makers have their favouritesย  (as in actors) and Matthew Vaughn’s favourite seems to be Jason Flemyng; whom has appeared in Stardust as well his gob blow by Hit Girl in Kick-Ass. So it looks like Vaughn’s is playing his lucky charm!
