I’m a big fan of Nick Cave’s music, a few years ago when I try to rediscover new music it was Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds was one of those bands that I got hooked on. I think I can say it was the 2005 The Proposition which Nick Cave wrote got me wanting to check out his music as I really enjoyed his scritping style for John Hillcoat’s (The Road) Outback western set during the Australia’s early days of settlement.

Well a while back the prospect of THE CROW been remade came back on the radar and Stephen Norrington (Blade, League Of Extraordinary Gentleman) would be the directing, well this remake I was not at all interested in. According to The Wrap is to be brought onboard to rewrite the script for the reboot  to save the Norrington’s proposed movie going to the wall, as it was beleived he was loosing control of the whole story a little bit like his previous movie League of Gentleman.

The original movie did become a sort of cult status due to the movie been based on a popular comicbook, which was dark, intense as welll Gothic inspired then you throw in Brandon Lee son of Bruce well . I was never a fan of the movie I’ve seen it but cant remember much about out it, probably says it all but I did have a few friends who you would class as goths and after the music there was 2 icons they would have as a badge of or a t-shirt thats The Sandman and The Crow.

The filming is apparently meant to start sometime this summer but if the script has to be re-written and no actors been confirmed to play Eric Draven aka The Crow you can say everything is on hold at the moment. If Cave is to re-write the script this could be the boost the project needs as it was only a few years ago he was listed by variety as one of the top ten screenwriters in the business and Nick Cave is apparently a big Crow fan so this could happen and I then would be interested.
