Here’s another edition of newsbites with a pick of a few stories from the internet world of the movie press.

Stellan Skarsgard in Thor

You would think been if your try get a scandanavian feel to the movie many of the scandanavian actors would be first in line well strangely enough Stellan Skarsgard was n’t one of them but now has joined the cast of Thor. His Son Alexander lost out to chris Hemsworth for lead role of Thor so I wonder if there’s a little jealousy there.

Nothing has been said yet what character he will exactly play as there’s not much yet been released on what story the movie will follow, but it looks like Kenneth Brannagh may be more loyal to the comic book. This would mean following the idea of Thor been exiled to earth and living a life as Donald Blake. Stellan Skarsgard is known to many people as one off the 3 dads in Mama Mia as well mythical characters such as cedric in King Arthur in 2004, In Beowulf he played Danish King Hrothar and Pirates of the Carribbean he was Bootstrap Bill.

Stellan Skarsgard joins Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Huddlestone, Jaime Alexander and Brian “Gordon’s Alive!” Blessed. Thor is penciled to be released May 2011

Tarantino talks KILL BILL 3

He’s finally finished Inglorious Basterds so what next for Tarantino? Tarantino is good teasing the media with possible projects and one that cropped up was Kill Bill 3.

On a recent Italian TV show he was asked about Pulp Fiction sequel (no way jose!) a Inglorious Basterds Prequel (possibly) and the biggest hint was Kill Bill3 with a likelyhood of the 3rd movie appearing around 2014 which would give Beatrix Kiddo aka the bride 10 year break from killing and a chance of getting to know a child.

With Bill actually dead now what form and who would the bride be up against? Only time will tell!

MICHAEL MANN TO MAKE ROBERT CAPA BIOPIC

Michael Mann has set up what is to be his next project, a biopic movie of Robert Capa the Hungarian war photographer. Capa was infamous for his compelling photos which spanned over 5 conflicts. Robert Mann is very intrigued with the hungarian’s love life which included a affair with Ingrid Bergmann, but it was during the Spanish civil war and his romance with fellow photographer Gerda Taro.

Its likely that Robert Mann will produce the movie with the money coming from Paramount Pictures, so stay tuned for more details.

Showgirls 2 – Sad trumpet polishers of the world unite as showgirls 2 is in production with Paul Vorlander been the guilty party to produce the sequel to one of the worst voted movies ever made. If Liz Berkeley will take up her role again I dont know as in when its coming out dont care.
