New trailer for delayed The Loft

The Loft-295.CR2

The Loft is a long time coming.  A remake of the 2008 Belgian thriller Loft, the film was shot way back in 2011 and was set for release in August this year. Due to a change of distributor however, The Loft was pushed back until January next year, which means we have now been sent the new trailer to view.

The film tells the story of a group of five friends who share a penthouse loft, their own “private oasis“, where they can indulge in their wildest fantasies away from the constraints of their marriages.  All is going well until they discover a dead body of an unknown woman in the loft.  With no signs of a break-in, the group start to look inwards to work out who the killer is.

The trailer and the rather cool motion poster below, both look to have been heavily influenced by Hitchcock, suggesting a suspenseful thriller, highlighting the men’s increased paranoia.

Director of the Belgian original, Erik Van Looy returns to direct the remake, with actors Karl Urban, James Marsden, Wentworth Miller, Eric Stonestreet, Matthias Schoenaerts, Isabel Lucas, Rachael Taylor and Rhona Mitra starring.  The Loft opens in UK cinemas on 23rd January.
