New Power Ballad UK Trailer ‘Will set the record straight’

Next month it will be time to set the record straight when Lionsgate Films release Power Ballad. Until then, we have a new UK Trailer and a chance for someone to reignite their career!

The comedy musical  comes from Sing Street director John Carney which stars Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas. They are also joined by Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Rory Keenan, Keith McErlean, Jack Reynor, Paul Reid, Beth Fallon, Naoimh Whelton and Havana Rose Liu.

This promises to be the ‘feel good’ movie of the year, many have promised and not delivered. This made it’s debut at Dublin Film Festival (Carney’s hometown) and looks to be a film with a lot of heart.

Power Ballad follows a washed up wedding singer (Rudd) and boy band singer (Jonas). They bond together. when boy band singer finds success with the others song, will the other get their recognition?

Synopsis | When Rick (Paul Rudd), a past-his-prime wedding singer, meets fading boy-band star Danny (Nick Jonas) during a gig, the two bond over music and a late-night jam session. But when Danny turns one of Rick’s songs into the hit that reignites his career, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves – even if it means risking everything he cares about.

From writer-director John Carney (Sing Street, Once), POWER BALLAD is a feelgood story about music, self-respect, friendship, and the price of ambition. Lionsgate presents, in association with 30WEST + Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland, a Likely Story / Distressed Films production, in association with Treasure Entertainment.

Power Ballad will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 29th May.
