New Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle Featurette Teases Original Movie Connections

Many older movies come back some as sequels or prequels, the rest like Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle it reboots to reflect the current day. 22 years ago the now cult classic version which starred a very young Kirsten Dunst and the late great Robin Williams.

From the onset of the trailers, we can clearly see the new version doesn’t look anything like the original. The board game has now been replaced by the video game and now we go inside the game. With a movie much loved you don’t want to lose the spirit of what made the original movie so loved. It’s an attitude Dwayne Johnson has and he wants viewers to remember this and be in line with the original.

Sony Pictures has created a new behind the scenes Featurette called ‘Evolution’ which shows how the new movie will connect with the original.Whatever version of this movie the game will always find a way to be played. We now may be in a video game age in Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle it goes retro video game style!

In the brand new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji –Jumanji plays you. They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever…

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle will be released in the UK, Irish and U.S confirmed for a 20th December release date. The movie also stars Nick Jonas.
