Just over a month Marvel Studios next MCU movie Doctor Strange will arrive in UK&Irish cinemas, a character that lives up to his surname ‘Strange’. So what do we know about Marvel’s most unique trippiest character? Don’t expect The Avengers (but in comic book world they have crossed paths), it’s all alternate dimensions, mind blogging magic! Marvel UK have recently posted a new video promo that attempts to click into that strange world and what we can expect when we enter his mysterious world next month.
Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange(Benedict Cumberbatch) who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. Hoping to regain his skills once again Strange looks to the unique mystic Healer known as the Ancient One to help him finding himself a master of the mystic arts. Thus bringing great responsibilities thanks to those great powers.
The video doesn’t reveal much new footage, Benedict Cumberbatch talks us through the origins of his character what’s in store with a tease of the ending of the film. Cumberbatch says his character is “selflessness but his deep, genuine desire to help people“, reminds me a little of a certain fictional sleuth, Sherlock Holmes?
This looks a visually intriguing we do love the Inception style visuals, the matrix style action and the fact this is going to be different from the rest of the MCU, it’s looking impressive. Even if you don’t know much about about Strange, it’s an Marvel film which will be refreshing change from the usual spandex characters.
“We are excited by the villains in this film, They are interested in spilling the barriers between these dimensions, which would annihilate our entire universe.” Feige.
Doctor Strange is set for a 25th October UK&Irish release date. The film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor , Michael Stuhlbarg, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Scott Adkins, Amy Landecker, and Mads Mikkelsen.
