New Cyrano Featurette Promises Fantasy And Escapism

French writer/Playwright Edmond Rostand like any writer must wonder when they put pen to paper if this will be the story people will be reading about decades later. He wrote Cyrano de Bergerac in 1897, over 200 years later we can clearly say it’s earned it’s right to be called a ‘timeless’ classic.

Next month Joe Wright adapts the timeless tale Cyrano into a musical. As we’ve seen in the trailers, the clips and Featurettes nothing has been lost. Those other Featurettes have focussed on the story and the characters, now it’s all about the music and the dance.

Paramount Pictures have sent us a new Featurette entitled ‘Next Level Song and Dance‘. The film promises fantasy and escapism and this promo looks at the songs and the dance moves. A chance for a glimpse at the main cast showing off those moves and singing…

Award-winning director Joe Wright envelops moviegoers in a symphony of emotions with music, romance, and beauty in Cyrano, re-imagining the timeless tale of a heartbreaking love triangle. A man ahead of his time, Cyrano de Bergerac (played by Peter Dinklage) dazzles whether with ferocious wordplay at a verbal joust or with brilliant swordplay in a duel. But, convinced that his appearance renders him unworthy of the love of a devoted friend, the luminous Roxanne (Haley Bennett), Cyrano has yet to declare his feelings for her — and Roxanne has fallen in love, at first sight, with Christian (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.).

The film also stars  Hayley Bennett, Kelvin Harrison Jr, Ben Mendelsohn and Bashir Salahuddin.  Cyrano will be released in the UK and Irish cinemas from the new date of Friday 25th February.
