Netflix Release Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance Trailer

Netflix have released the official Trailer for their upcoming Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance series directed by Erasmus Brosdau (Altered Carbon: Resleeved).

Requiem for Vengeance will take place at the European front during the One Year War, a conflict also depicted in the first Gundam series Mobile Suit Gundam.

This series follows the themes such as conflict and love seen in previous Gundam titles, as well as human drama depicted through the clash of pilots who operate humanoid weapons called Mobile Suits.

I have to admit, I’m no fan of the CG animation. I appreciate animation style need to modernise, however, this style doesn’t give me Gundam vibes. Do well call it Anime or anime inspired based on a classic anime franchise? Any old school Gundam fan you’ll recognise Zaku II, Gundam, Gouf, Zaku Tank, GM and Guntank.

In the year 0079 of the Universal Century, the Principality of Zeon declares independence from the Earth Federation, plunging the two nations into war. Thanks to a revolutionary new weapon known as a Mobile Suit, the Zeon Force initially gains the upper hand. However, they lacked the power to take control of the entire Earth, bringing the war to a stalemate.

Eleven months into the war, the Earth Federation forces manage to seize a Zeon-controlled base located in Eastern Europe. Among the mixed battalion headed to reclaim this base is Sorari and the Red Wolves division, a Mobile Suit platoon that has just descended from space.

Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance will launch with all 6 episodes on Netflix from 17th October.
