MOVIE OF THE WEEK& FRIDAY 22ND JANUARY RELEASES OF THE WEEK
wow another week is here, so whats on the board this week? Classic animation gets the 3-d effect, well so is everything else! Antcipated French prison drama which we’ve been told is up there with the big boys of crime movies, The matrix boys do martials arts, Clive own is back with his film kids, (ex)spiderman has a brotherly fight with donnie darko over luke skywalker’s mum. Matt Dillion got his workmates to “borrow” some cash from there work.
I do have a movie of the week and ive chosed UN PROPHETE (A Prophet) A French prision drama movie which has won plaudits at many of 2009’s major film festivals for its brutal but honest protrayal of prision life and what it can do to individuals especially persons who may need a father figure but in a positive way but in the main characters way it was negative. In Any reviews ive seen the rating has been no less than 4 stars, When I first heard about this movie I didnt take really any notice but a few people said to me you like Meserine? Of course I do you’ll love this and when I heard that I made my mind up, watch out for the review in the next few days. The rest of movie are really a mixed bag with TOY STORY 2 getting a 3D makeover which im still undecided yet but its good for youngsters who never saw the movie the first time to see it on the big screen. BROTHERS starring Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman is an emtional drama which has alot of cliche momments which have ex soldiers and dealing with post war truama and love issues, a hard on to take.
NINJA ASSASSIN comes from James McTeague and the walchowski brother who gave us the matrix 10 years ago, I was so looking forward to this but after seeing more footage and reading reviews this looks like crap now which is sad as it had potential to be a great movie. THE BOYS ARE BACK sees Clive owen coming to terms of being a single parent after his wife suddenly dies, one for the weepy lovers outthere.
So next week what do we have? Bring a torch as Mel is back and hes gonna take us all to a place if you forget your torch, they’ll be lots of cover ups. Peter Jackson is going to make us all love atonomy. Disney go back to old school animation with a reworking of an old fable and Mariah Carey is so “Precious” to us all.
Enjoy your movies, send us your thoughts on the movies to the usual place. take it easy….
