The Monster Unleashed In New Second The Mummy Trailer

A couple of days ago we warned you the Princess will get her revenge this Sunday and that day has arrived as the spanking new second The Mummy UK trailer is here. The first trailer showcased the bonkers action (with Tom Cruise doing what he does best run)scenes but also was criticised maybe revealing a little too much. The new trailer, however, reveals more of our monster who has now been unleashed and that was not a tomb, it was a prison!
We’ve known for a while Universal Pictures were digging deep into the catacombs of their Monster Universe with this movie the starting point of the rebooted Universe. If you’re eager to see some monsters, this trailer won’t disappoint as they come out to play with some heroes too.
Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilisation: The Mummy.Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
We all know Tom Cruise loves to take on antagonists a lot bigger than him and impress us with Mission Impossible style stunts, does this actually feel and look like a horror? Yes and no, more a hybrid of horror-action possibly more superhero than horror icons. This doesn’t this won’t a be a fun movie and having all the iconic monsters in a connected world is also a good move too. In defence of this, there does seem to be an equal amount of focus on the horror with Sofia Boutella look equally scary as our leading ghoul.
The Mummy is set to unleash the monsters in the UK and Ireland from 9th June. Annabelle Wallis, Russell Crowe, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance. make up the rest of the cast.
