like M. Night Shyamalan ,it’s been a very long time since Tim Burton has had a major box office success, some may argue Alice In Wonderland delivered at the box office. However it split critically however things might be on the up when Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children is released next month.
Today thanks to those really people at Twentieth Century Fox we have a brand new behind the scenes featurette called “Inside Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s World“. In this short promo video we hear from Tim Burton himself as well as some of the cast talking about the world the film is set in. The author of the book Ransom Riggs whom the film is based on expands on his creation, one that’s based around an old set of black & White Photographs. Samuel L.Jackson calls Burton’s passion ‘infectious’ one that drove him during the film. Check out the promo….
Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children is from visionary director Tim Burton, and based upon the best-selling novel, comes an unforgettable motion picture experience. When his beloved grandfather leaves Jake clues to a mystery that spans different worlds and times, he finds a magical place known as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. But the mystery and danger deepen as he gets to know the residents and learns about their special powers…and their powerful enemies. Ultimately, Jake discovers that only his own special “peculiarity” can save his new friends.
Miss Peregrine certainly looks like the weird, surrealist tropes that made Tim Burton so popular will be on show. He is an director with so much ambition, passion to be different slightly off-kilter and Big Eyes did bring some success but was regarded too small. Frankenweenie probably more like vintage Burton, but are fans hoping for Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands?
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Chris O’Dowd, Ella Purnell, Allison Janney, Rupert Everett, Terence Stamp, with Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson and will arrive in UK cinemas 30th September.
