Michael Pena Is A Warrior Of God In The Vatican Tapes Trailer
Just when you thought it was safe to say no more another one is coming and Michael Pena is the warrior of God who command you to watch the first trailer for The Vatican Tapes.
Mark Neveldine (Crank/Ghost Rider) marks his first solo directed feature minus his buddy Brian Taylor but can he deliver a well over due kick to a tired sub-genre?
The Vatican Tapes tells the story of Father Lozano (Michael Peña) steps in taking over from Vicar Imani (Djimon Hounsou) the assigned Vatican representative Angela Holmes (Olivia Dudley), seems to become possessed. When it first looks like its an normal ‘demonic possession’ they notice the devastation effect they are now dealing with “an ancient satanic force more powerful than they imagined.”
Bringing in tired found footage sub-genre with demonic possession it’s extremely difficult to delivery something extremely original. This is not saying The Vatican Tapes is not a bad film as Neveldine seems to have creating some fantastic striking visuals and possibly pushed to the limits as he’s an extreme king. It’s hard to actually say how good this will be as trailers don’t always deliver the full picture but only tease, so don’t be surprised if there might be a few unexpected surprises. You either love or loathe the genre…
The Vatican Tapes doesn’t have an UK release date but if you live in USA it will be arrive cinema near year on 22nd May, film will also star Dougray Scott, Kathleen Robertson, John Patrick Amedori, Cas Anvar and Alex Sparrow.
