He’s known to many as Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap , Christopher Guest is also an established movie director and in 2 weeks time he’s heading to Netflix with his new film, Mascots. To promote the upcoming film we have a funny clip called ‘The Fist‘ the mascot played by Chris O’Dowd. When you hear his story stop laughing and wonder how he can be a mascot when he’s not really welcomed!
Mascots is a new comedy from Christopher Guest, director of Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show. Starring many of his regular troupe of actors, this latest film takes place in the ultracompetitive world of sports mascots where they compete for the most prestigious award in their field, the Gold Fluffy.
Netflix is certainly going to town in regards of increasing their catalogue not just with old and new movies from Hollywood but it’s own produced films too. When your’originals’ movie catalogue are made up of Adam Sandler movies which are been destroyed critically you have to do something quickly. They maybe still in there infancy years and Guest may not be a box office draw however his films are more reliable for laughs then Sandler& Co.
Mascots certainly looks like will have plenty of gags, maybe a little of emotion too. Whilst this may not be Spinal Tap, it does have a slice of spirot of Tap making this a good choice for comedy.
Here’s the film’s official trailer…
The Netflix original film stars Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, Fred Willard, Ed Begley, Jr., Christopher Moynihan, Don Lake, Brad Williams, Zach Woods, Chris O’Dowd, Susan Yeagley, Sarah Baker, Tom Bennett, Kerry Godliman, Bob Balaban, Jennifer Coolidge, Michael Hitchcock, Maria Blasucci, John Michael Higgins, and Jim Piddock.
