Matt Reeves The Batman Synopsis Has Been Revealed!
Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne Is a angry young man

No matter how good MCU films might be, there is always one comic book character I adore better than Marvel is Batman. So off course we are overly excited for Matt Reeves The Batman next year, even more that it’s an Noir inspired thriller. Today Warner Bros teased all more by releasing the official Synopsis for the film which gives us a better idea what we can expect.
It’s surprising that this film’s synopsis has been released just less than 4 months before it’s release. Usually Matt Reeves is one of the directors who likes to keep his story close to his chest as long as he can. Though we will say it still looks like he’s keeping some of the plot to closer to the release…
Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.
When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.

From what we can read from the synopsis, Bruce Wayne is a young man with a lot of money, but even more rage. A man finding it hard to balance things out stopping himself stepping over the line into criminality. It seems he’s more a reclusive than the party animal we know from the Christopher Nolan films. Could he be the Michael Keaton Bruce Wayne who a reclusive, potentially tying into Keaton’s own return as the older Batman? Or simply a man who can trust no one due to Gotham’s corruption?
It also confirms Paul Dano is The Riddler and David Fincher‘s Se7en does also seem to have a big influence this version. If this is the case we are even more excited, though there’s still plenty of clues still to be revealed.
The Batman will be released in the UK, Ireland and USA from 4th March 2022.
