Madea Has A Temper In The ALEX CROSS First Official Trailer

James Patterson’s much loved homicide cop character Alex Cross is returning to cinemas this Autumn for his latest big screen adaptation ALEX CROSS and today the film’s first official trailer (& poster) has been released online. Tyler Perry is playing the titular role a role that was made popular by Morgan Freeman in Kiss The Girls and along came the spider, with The Fast and Furious director Rob Cohen helming with Lost’s Matthew Fox on villain duties for this one.

So what’s it all about? After Washington DC detective Alex Cross is told that a family member has been murdered, he vows to track down the killer. He soon discovers that she was not his first victim and that things are not what they seem.

This looks not bad the pace is fast action looks decent but I have a few concerns. First is Tyler Perry does he possess the box office pulling power he’ll have in USA? Over in blighty he is virtually unknown commodity making his name for his Mrs Doubtfire type character Madea which he’s made many films very few have scratched the surface or even made it into the UK box office. I’m not doubting his ability but you can see in this trailer he’s trying too hard to be more tougher as you’ll see he does have a temper too compared to Morgan Freeman’s older methodical Cross. What’s with all the one liners too?Matthew Fox’s transformation into muscle bound Michael “The Butcher” Sullivan is a terrifying awesome and he’s certainly taking the villain role all the way, demented a perfect Ying to Perry’s Yang.
