Lily Gladstone Searches For Sister In Fancy Dance Trailer

Apple TV have released the Trailer for Erica Tremblay‘s feature debut drama Fancy Dance. Nearly a over a year after it’s world premiere at Sundance in 2023, the film is finally getting it’s streaming release.

The film has been getting fantastic reviews , probably because it has the wonderful Lily Gladstone. The actress who should have one Oscar glory with Killers Of The Flower Moon. She plays Jax whom after her sister goes missing with her niece Roki they go on the road to search for her. Jax is also about to loose custody of her niece to her grandfather.

Trying to put right to our ghosts from our past from a Indigenous women perspective.

Since her sister’s disappearance, Jax (Lily Gladstone) has cared for her niece Roki (Isabel Deroy-Olson) by scraping by within their Tribal Land. Every spare minute goes into finding her missing sister while also helping Roki prepare for an upcoming powwow. At the risk of Jax losing custody to Roki’s grandfather, Frank (Shea Whigham), the pair hit the road and scour the backcountry to track down Roki’s mother in time for the powwow. What begins as a search gradually turns into a far deeper investigation into the complexities and contradictions of Indigenous women moving through a colonized world while at the mercy of a failed justice system. Gladstone stars alongside Isabel Deroy-Olson, Ryan Begay, Crystle Lightning, with Audrey Wasilewski and Shea Whigham.

“Fancy Dance,” a Confluential Films and Significant Productions/AUM Group production, is produced by Deidre Backs, Erica Tremblay, Heather Rae, Nina Yang Bongiovi and Tommy Oliver with Bird Runningwater, Lily Gladstone, Forest Whitaker and Charlotte Koh serving as executive producers.

The film also stars Isabel Deroy-Olson, Ryan Begay, Crystle Lightning, Audrey Wasilewski and Shea Whigham. Fancy Dance will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on 28th June.
