2013 seems to be the year of the Somalian pirate with highly underrated A Hijacking which delivered some powerful realism, intensity delivering a psychological movie without actually showing any violence or hijacking. When the first ย trailer for Paul GreengrassCaptain Phillips starring Tom Hanks ย we would expect something ย completely however as this new trailer shows we might get something very dramatic.

Captain Philipsย is based on true life story of ย the 2009 hijacking of theย US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama by Somali pirates the first American ship to be hijacked in over 200 years.Tom Hanks plays Richard Philips the real life ย cargo captain ย a film based and thanks to the way he dealtย with his captors made him a TV celeb and now we have the film.

The tension for this trailer is sky high but still very compelling. Whilst the trailer hints on more drama, you know they’ll be some gun battle some way down the line for this one.Captain Phillips will make it’s European Premier at London Film Festival on 9th October before opening in UK 9 days later on 18th (11th USA).ย Catherine Keener, Max Martini, Yul Vazquez, Michael Chernus, Chris Mulkey, Corey Johnson, David Warshofsky, John Magaroย andย Angus MacInnes.
