LIFF 2011:Second American Trailer For The Descendants Starring George Clooney Tackling The Joys Of Fatherhood
Yesterday we revealed the New UK Teaser poster’s for Alexander Payne’s The Descendants Starring George Clooney as a distraught Father attempting to deal with Fatherhood. Any parent will know there’s no perfect answer to parenthood, you do your best in what you have and in this film Gorgeous George may start the clueless Dad but that’s life and we learn and adapt so is there any role h hasn’t done yet? President, Batman, Doctor, Spy, Thief, prisoner, astronaut you name it he’s probably done it! Talking of done it as in done it again With Ides Of March as well as the accolades The Descendants has scooped up since it’s tour of the festivals could Clooney be having a busy time next February when the next Oscars arrive? Going on the buzz of both films he might need a seat on the stage and a few extra pairs of hands to help him carry those awards!
With yesterdays posters usually means a UK trailer maybe with us soon but do check this New American trailer out which is more of a teaser though still gives you a good insight on what we can expect when this film arrives on January 20th 2012 in UK&Ireland (USA November 18th). The Descendants also stars George Clooney,Judy Greer, Beau Bridges, Matthew Lillard, Robert Forster, Shailene Woodley, Mary Birdsong, Nick Krause and Amara Miller.
From Alexander Payne, the creator of the Oscar®-winning SIDEWAYS, THE DESCENDANTS is set in Hawaii and follows the unpredictable journey of an American family at a crossroads. Matt King (George Clooney), a husband and father of two girls, must re-examine his past and navigate his future when his wife is in a boating accident off Waikiki. He awkwardly attempts to repair his relationship with his daughters – 10 year-old precocious Scottie (Amara Miller) and rebellious 17 year-old Alexandra (Shailene Woodley) – while wrestling with a decision to sell his family’s land. Handed down from Hawaiian royalty and missionaries, the Kings own some of the last priceless virgin parcels of tropical beach in the islands.
When Alexandra drops the bombshell that her mother was in the midst of a romantic fling at the time of the accident, Matt has to take a whole new look at his life, not to mention his legacy, during a week of momentous decisions. With his girls in tow, he embarks on a haphazard search for his wife’s lover. Along the way, in encounters alternately funny, troublesome and transcendent, he realizes he’s finally on course toward rebuilding his life and family.
