Showcasing the talents of Academy Award nominees Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts, Academy Award winner Chris Cooper and newcomer Judah Lewis, Demolition arrives in UK &Irish cinemas from today and to mark the occasion, Fox Searchlight Pictures have sent us a new featurette introduces this stellar cast .
In Demolition,Davis (Jake Gyllenhaal), a successful investment banker, struggles after losing his wife in a tragic car crash. Despite pressure from his father in law Phil (Chris Cooper) to pull it together, Davis continues to unravel. What starts as a complaint letter to a vending machine company turns into a series of letters revealing startling personal admissions. Davis’ letters catch the attention of customer service rep Karen (Naomi Watts) and, amidst emotional and financial burdens of her own, the two form an unlikely connection. With the help of Karen and her son Chris (Judah Lewis), Davis starts to rebuild, beginning with the demolition of the life he once knew.
In another new featurette called ‘A Conversation with Jake and Jean-Marc‘ Jake Gyllenhaal and director Jean-Marc Vallée are in conversation about the film and how they got involved in the project.
In the final featurette called ‘Letters From Davis’ focuses on the letters that connect Davis to Karen and the process the lettering writing helping someone who maybe in beareavement.
We also have a new clip from the film called ‘It’s Just Shiny Stuff’ Karen visits Davis complimenting his house but gets an unexpected reply.
