The first trailer for Zack Snyder’s animated adventure LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS has been posted online by Yahoo Movies.The movie was orginally called Guardians of Ga’Hoole but the old PC Brigade didnt like something they could say and made them change it (well something like that).

The movie is based on the first three popular children’s books by Kathryn Lasky which follow a young owl called Soren (voiced by Jim Sturgess) who is kidnapped by the owls of St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned owls. This academy is meant to be an orphanage but instead its a academy set up to brainwash and train owls to be soldiers to attack the peaceful owls of Ga’Hoole.

Some people may find it strange or unusual for a director like snyder to do a movie like this especially after doing movies like Dawn of The Dead, 300 and Watchmen but Zack Snyder was happy he could finally create something children could enjoy. The animation has been created by the team behind Happy Feet, Animal Logic plus this animated movie is joining the 3-D movie club as well.

Huge line of big name stars have leant their voices to this animation: Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Emilie de Ravin, Ryan Kwanten, Jay Laga’aia, Miriam Margolyes, Helen Mirren, Sam Neill, Jim Sturgess, Hugo Weaving, Geoffrey Rush,and  David Wenham.

Still a while to go before this one is released its 15th October for UK & Ireland and a little earlier for USA on September 24th. USA Today have released some images click here to see them

imdb synopsis:Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie’s, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga’Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie’s. The film is based on the first three books in the series.
