K-ON! Season 2 [rating=3]

The second TV season of the phenomenal girl-singer saga K-ON! is now available on one set! Enjoy the final year of the girls’ school exploits, including amateur dramatics, marathon races and – of course – loads of singing! Whatever they do, the girls are strengthened by their seemingly unbreakable friendship.

The much awaited season 2 of K-ON! Is finally out to own on dvd. I always enjoy K-ON! Due to the slice of life comedy light hearted style it brings and also a few bits of emotional response is drawn out. It is girly however, but at times it’s best left at that innocence.

Animation;
The animation is crisp clear and colourful, no dark colours involved perfectly suited to the slice of life comedy style of the anime. I’ll give this a full start it is the preferred animation style for most slice of lifes and comedies.

Plot;
The plot is so-so. There aren’t many twists or turns, nothing that has us really on the edge of our seats. K-ON! Is simply something to watch to relax, it doesn’t stress us out with dramatic sequences, and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I’ll give the plot a half star.

Characters;
Characters then are as we know them from Season 1; there weren’t any more additional characters added then again from the slice of life style anime, with little drama and plot twists then it is a good thing, keeping us relaxed as we watch. I’ll give the Characters a half star.

Character development;
The lack of new characters gave more space to explore the characters we know and adore. We got to see different sides to everyone and even watch them grow up a little, but only a little mind. I’m definitely awarding a full star for Character development.

Extras;
Finally the extras were poor. The only extras we got to see were textless opening and closing themes. We don’t even get trailers. Fair enough the textless opening and closing themes for an anime based around musicians is good, but then again most anime releases come with textless opening and closing regardless. I’m unfortunately going to give the extras zero stars.

All in all
K-ON! Season 2 Gets a 3 out of 5 stars from me. It is definitely worth the watch especially if you are a fan of Season 1.
