The Joker Joins The Ever Expanding Blade Runner 2 Cast

Suicide-Squad
He didn’t have a happy time recently with the heavily criticised Suicide Squad when many of his scenes where cut from the final edit. Leaving behind his disappointments he’s already looking towards the future as  he looks to have joined the cast of Blade Runner 2.

According to Variety Leto has joined the cast for a yet unknown role despite the cameras already rolling for some time. With all the main characters already covered, nothing is really known on the character but from the info out there on this story, it’s possibly a brand new character. Could he be the film’s villain?

Whilst some may not be fans of  his unhinged style of method acting which has seen him play a certain brand of characters. We must n’t forget that style of acting that’s made him popular has also won him awards including an Oscar (The Dallas Buyers Club). It will be curious to see how he works with Harrison Ford!

Ford will reprise his iconic role of Rick Deckard, a role he made famous on the original 1982 cult film. Ryan Gosling also stars but like Jared Leto‘s role only Ford’s role is known the rest not known yet. Could Gosling be playing a similar role to Rutger Hauer?

The actual plot (and title) for Blade Runner 2 is not known at this stage . What info that we do know is that it will be set decades after the original with Earth’s environment in a even worse condition. It’s ironic to know we’re only just over 2 years away from 2019 the year Blade Runner was set in.

The cast also stars Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri, Mackenzie Davis, Barkhad Abdi, David Dastmalchian, Hiam Abbass, Lennie James and Dave Bautista.

Blade Runner 2 is set for a 6th October 2017 release date so we are a very long time away from catching even a teaser. The film is been directed by Prisoners/Sicario helmer Denis Villeneuve with the legendary Roger Deakins onboard as cinematography. Ridley Scott the original film director is on board as executive producer.
