John David Washington Is On The Run In Beckett Trailer

After Tenet and chasing the villains, John David Washington finds himself on the run in the Official Trailer for conspiracy thriller Beckett. An American man on holiday who finds himself the centre of a widescale manhunt in a thriller that’s more than meets the eye.

As well as Washington , Alicia Vikander stars as our lead man’s girlfriend. With Ferdinando Cito Filomarino and Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino producing this. Filomarino has worked as Guadagnino’s second unit director on films such as A Bigger Splash, all Me By Your Name, and Suspiria.

Following a tragic car accident in Greece, Beckett, an American tourist, finds himself at the centre of a dangerous political conspiracy and on the run for his life.

This film was apparently called Born to Be Murdered, reasons for changing we don’t really know. the new title is alot better and pushes the focus on Washington’s character especially as this is being called a political thriller which suggest his character maybe more than a tourist. Then again he might just be a pawn of a political fight and how about Vikander? Is she the true political target and we expect her to be in the film longer than the trailer pushes. Solid cast, not the most original narrative , we do like these films and here hops it delivers…

While vacationing in Greece, American tourist Beckett (John David Washington) becomes the target of a manhunt after a devastating accident. Forced to run for his life and desperate to get across the country to the American embassy to clear his name, tensions escalate as the authorities close in, political unrest mounts, and Beckett falls even deeper into a dangerous web of conspiracy.

The film also stars Boyd Holbrook and Vicky Krieps.

Beckett will be released on Netflix from 13th August. Before then the film will make it’s world premiere at Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland from 4th August.
