Joe Wright’s The Woman In The Window Heading To Netflix
This news doesn’t comes as much as a surprise, it seems 20th Century Studios has sold Joe Wright‘s The Woman In The Window to Netflix. Deadline are reporting the thriller starring Amy Adams as our agoraphobic woman who befriends one of her neighbours for that neighbour to suddenly disappear.
The film was one of the last films from 20th Century Fox Pictures which was originally set for release 2019 release . That was delayed when Disney bought over Fox, when things got settled they film was given a May 2020. Before you know Covid-19 caused the world to pause dramatically.
Based on the best-selling novel, adapted by Pulitzer Prize winning writer Tracy Letts, THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW follows Dr. Anna Fox, a recluse, living alone in her New York City brownstone, as she spends her days drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies . . . and spying on her neighbours.
When the Russell family moves into the house across the way, they appear to be the perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble and shocking secrets are laid bare. Forced to prove what she saw actually happened, everyone begins to question if what occurred was real or imagined. Is it paranoia or did it happen? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one and nothing is what it seems.
The film also stars Gary Oldman, Julianne Moore, Anthony Mackie, Wyatt Russell, Tracy Letts (who wrote the script), Brian Tyree Henry, and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
It’s unclear exactly when Netflix will release The Woman In The Window.
