Jeff Daniels Joins Shrinking For Season Three As Jason Segel’s Father

Harry Dunne is ready for some Shrinking! Award-winning actor Jeff Daniels will be joining the cast of Shrinking for its third season.

The hit Apple TV+ comedy-drama about Jimmy Laird (Jason Segel), a therapist who starts to be honest with his clients after the death of his wife. The series also stars Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, and Christa Miller.

According to Deadline, Daniels will play Jimmy’s father with a guest-starring arc, which will mark a return to comedy for the first time since 20114’s Dumb & Dumber To. A two-time Emmy winner, the actor is known for such projects as Steve Jobs, The Martian, The Newsroom, Speed and Dumb and Dumber.

The series, co-created by Segel, Bill Lawrence, and Brett Goldstein, began in January 2023, returning for a second season in October 2024.

Most recently, Jeff Daniels has been seen in two series: American Rust and A Man in Full, with film Reykjavik– opposite J.K. Simmons and Jared Harris, due for release later this year.

It is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Doozer Productions.
