Let’s be honest money makes the world go around, any chance to make a few more $$$ film studios will jump at the chance including rebooting any of their back catalogue. So it’s no surprise that Paramount Pictures are looking back to go forward when they’ll bring back Jason Voorhees when Friday The 13th will be stalking a cinema near you in 2015!
In an exchange with Warner Bros getting Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar Paramount now have the rights to the classic horror slasher franchise , established, low cost and quick to relaunch. It’s that quick the thirteenth film of the franchise already has a official release date, that date is Friday 13th March 2015.
Recent horror phenomenon of creating films on micro budget for a maximum return Paranormal Activity 2 is that best example of that formula working earning nearly £180 million worldwide. The previous Friday The 13th reboot in 2009 earned a measly £75 million but it was on a £14 million budget it’s still a profitable success. Ever since that last incarnation there was talk of a possible new film coming out this year using the current popular formula of ‘found footage’ however things never materialized now 2015 is the aim for Warner Bros
Exhibitor Relations tweeted news of the release date.
Paramount sets FRIDAY THE 13th for March 13, 2015. Not a sequel to the reboot, mind you, another reboot entirely.

So who will direct? Who will star in the film? Will Kane Hodder lift up the hockey mask to play Jason Voorhees? Will it be in the snow? or will they go for that found footage style? All will be revealed soon.
