Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Will Smith Confirmed For Suicide Squad
It’s been exciting fans of comic book movies for several weeks now and today the Suicide Squad movie took several steps to becoming a reality with the news of Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Will Smith are among others who have been confirmed to star in the big screen adaptation.
When it comes to rumours rarely do we see that every one of them as in regards of casting gossip are true but according to Variety they where true and they confirm Tom Hardy, Jai Courtney Cara Delevingne also are joining. Suicide Squad you could call them the super villain version of Avengers and you would be far of that description and our anti-heroes are all part of a secretive government who offered redemption by going on ‘suicidal’ missions.
The most exciting news we’ve learned is that Jared Leto whose had a wonderful 12 months thanks to his Oscar winning role as Rayon in Dallas Buyers Club is definitely playing The Joker. An iconic role that the late Heath Leadger delivered with masterful perfection in The Dark Knight Rises however like Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton’s Batman we expect Leto deliver a performance we’ll talk about years after the film has been made.
Margot Robbie is to play Harley Quinn The Joker’s female sidekick another familiar character from Batman’s universe, Will Smith Deadshot another Batman regular which leads to the question could the caped crusader make a possible cameo? Tom Hardy will play the leader of the pack Rick Flag a son of a legendary military leader who has unstable tendencies a role many where expecting Jai Courtney to play. He will play Flash nemesis Boomerang , the ‘joker’ of the squad but plagued with a racist tongue . Cara Delevingne will play Enchantress who has magical gifts she uses for her evil needs.
With D.C ready to step up to the plate and try beat or at least match the success of Marvel in the film stakes will they try crossover characters from the other films that are been made too like Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Warner Bros has no plans at the moment but we wouldn’t rule anything out at this stage but if they do could mean extra shootings in order. One rumour doing the rounds is Jesse Eisenberg might appear as Lex Luthor however now word that he’s actually been involved in any talks. One character still to be sorted is Amanda Waller, and the likes of Octavia Spencer, Oprah Winfrey, Viola Davis have ll be mentioned.
Suicide Squad is due to be ready to shoot April in Toronto Canada with a August 2016 release date been set for USA but no UK&Irish date has been confirmed. Fury director David Ayer is set to direct.
