James Norton, Rumoured To Be In Running For New James Bond, Joins House Of The Dragon For Season 3

Having been rumoured by fans and bookmakers as one of the top candidates to take over from Daniel Craig as the new James Bond 007, it seems James Norton has jumped onto a franchise after all – but not the one many had thought.
The Little Woman and Joy star has joined the cast for the anticipated third season of House of the Dragon, the next installment on HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel, according to Variety. Norton is set to play the role of Ormund Hightower, someone who was whispered about in the show’s second season. The official word is that Hightower will “Otto’s (Rhys Ifans) nephew, Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and Gwayne’s (Freddie Fox) cousin, and the Lord of Oldtown. He is presently leading the Hightower host in a march on King’s Landing to support his house against Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy).”
Ormund was one of the key characters during the Dance of the Dragons in creator George R.R. Martin’s original Fire & Blood book, and “wielded a Valyrian steel longsword called Vigilance.”
Matt Smith, Steve Toussaint, Sonoya Mizuno, Eve Best, Mily Alcock, Fabien Frankel, Harry Collett, Tom Glynn-Carney, Ewan Mitchell, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Tom Taylor, Tom Bennett and Paddy Considine are part of the vast cast of the show, which is set to return in 2026.
